Exciting Developments at RBS Radio: Growth, Community, and Future Endeavours

Since launching thier first morning show during assembly time in February, RBS Radio has blossomed into a vibrant platform for creativity and connection at Reach British School.  As they continue to grow and evolve, we’ve taken significant steps to enhance our community and creative offerings. We are thrilled to share the latest updates, including our new studio, the plans of the formation of a dedicated student team, and live broadcasting.

This ambitious project helps develop essential skills such as presenting, producing, promoting, and editing. For students who find it challenging to express themselves through writing or speaking in front of large crowds, radio offers a supportive medium to build confidence and contribute meaningfully to school life.

A Platform for All Voices

Radio allows us to tackle various topics, from the transition to A-levels to assemblies on sustainability and Meet the Teacher events. The concise format makes it more accessible, especially for students who may struggle with written English. The morning radio show celebrates everything we hold dear at RBS including contributions from our entire school community, with students from Year 2 serving as our weatherman to seniors presenting the news, aiming for it to be eventually entirely student-run. This initiative will empower students to take ownership of their contributions, allowing them to collaborate on projects, develop their skills, and support one another in this creative endeavour.

As excitement around RBS Radio continues to grow, students are increasingly contributing their ideas, allowing the station to develop organically. We invite you to follow our journey on Spotify and join us in celebrating this thriving community.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Live Broadcasting

As part of our strategic vision, we’re exploring new ways to connect with our audience through live streaming. This initiative will enable us to reach the broader community.

With the opening of our new studio, the formation of our student team, and the exciting prospect of live streaming, we are poised for a transformative period. We can’t wait to see how these developments will shape our future and enrich our community. Thank you for your continued support, stay tuned for announcements about our upcoming live sessions!
